Hello
I have a question.
Black Americans who are descendents of slaves have been cooking in White America’s stainless steel melting pot over 500 years.
Now my question is this, do we stay in the pot to continue cooking or do we get out and try something different?
Tell me what you think.

Black Americans according to the census report numbers 41 million people. Everyone throughout the world basically knows the common history of Black Americans; especially from the Dr. King era seen on all television sets throughout the world as did the tragedy of the Black Chicago youth killed by Blacks just a few weeks ago.
Now, who would contest that Black Americans being former slaves are basically without an inborn common thread that could tie us together to have one common cause as other hi…

The Power of a Penny
I bargained with life for a penny
And life would pay no more
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store
For life is just an employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.

For those of you who have not read Think and Grow R…

Hello to all,
Could Black Americans become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders?
Let me show you all from a different angle why sovereignty or complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent is necessary for our survival.
Firstly, it could not be denied that Black Americans are eight different people from White Americans.
Now, Black Americans lives under the jurisdiction of White America. For instance,…

Would our ancestors be proud of the people we are today?
I guess that we should figure out what we have become today before we could answer this question. So, what do you all think our ancestors would have desired that we be today? Well, I would think that they would want that we would be the opposite of what they were in all respects. Now, we know that they were slaves, so naturally they would not want us to be as they were.
Now, let me give my personal opinion. I know that 99% of us today ar…

This slogan, slave mentality, has been used on Black Americans by Black Americans. It has been kicked around as a worn out football for a very long time. But, what precisely does it mean.
I know that it is synonymous to Colonial Mentality.
Do Black Americans have a Slave Mentality/Colonial Mentality?
Let me to lead off with my personal definition of what a slave mentality is. I do not necessarily have to be right. A slave mentality to me is a people that begs and protests.
Now, begging is in…

The question of how the 45.7% of Americans who did not vote for President Barack Obama would respond to his presidency emerged immediately after the election.
Will these Americans who did not vote for Obama – predominantly white republicans and conservatives – acknowledge and accept the vision for change supported by the 52.9% of Americans – white, black, Latino, democrats, republicans, conservatives, liberals and others – who voted for President Barack Obama?
Or, will those Americans who did…

Renal Medullary Carcinoma is a very rare cancer of the kidney that effects those who carry the Sickle Cell trait.
There are only 56 documented cases of those 12-31 who have had this cancer, My young cousin is one of the 56.
Very little research has been done on this type of kidney cancer and because it only effects blacks very little has been done to help fight this cancer, This is why I am telling any and everyone I can to spread the word about this. If you know of anyone who i…

Let me share a Christian experience I had Wednesday week in bible study.
A member said that he is glad Jesus did not come down from the cross. The pastor and the members agreed. I said that it seems to me Jesus is worth more dead than alive to you all, since you all say Jesus died for your sins, yet none of you would die for Jesus. I went on to draw them a picture of their Christian belief and what is meant by what they were saying.
I said to imagine that they were among the people when Pontiu…

Is sovereignty or complete independence of American Blacks, who are descendents of slaves’ our only permanent solution ever to be real people in this world?
Firstly, it cannot be denied that American Blacks are a different people from all other people, racially speaking as Chinese, French, Russian, Bolivian and Japanese people are from each other.
Secondly, Black Americans have never breathed the fresh air of autonomy as our American Whites relatives did when they won their independence from E…

I am approaching my 55th year of life and probably have had well over 100 adult medical visits to deal with one issue or the other. As a health advocate, I emphasize the importance of individuals keeping adequate records as they relate to their medical care, keeping a journal of health visits, keeping a list of their medications, keeping dates of their recent immunizations, x-rays, lab test, etc..and I realize this in itself can be a tedious task. I think just how big my folder would be if I…

What is the cause or, why it is that people who are most dark skinned fight, kill each other, steal from each other, covet each other’s wives and possessions, cannot do anything together, which prevents the dark skinned people from advancing and bettering the quality of their lives while on the other hand, people of the most palest of skin are just the opposite and we all can attest to the quality of life pale skinned people have?
Does anyone think that perhaps this profound difference has anyt…

The problems I have experienced with all the bloggers who have engaged in dialogue with me is this. .
We always begin with a cordial attitude towards each other. You all would present what you believe are good resolutions to the many problems Black Americans having. However, none of your resolutions has been able to resolve our problems since we were born into slavery. For example, Mr. Frederick Douglass, Mr. Booker T. Washington, Dr. King, the Nation of Islam, Rev. Al Sharpton etc. have not be…

For those of you who don’t know, Freecell is a computer card game. Smack in the middle of my business day you may walk up behind me and see me playing this game. It probably looks like I’m not working. (It’s a good thing; I don’t have a boss looking over my shoulder.) That’s not the case. Often went I am stuck, I play Freecell. Why? Because, it opens my mind for a solution.
Freecell is a game that you can always win! There is always a solution. The only way you lose is by not having a good strat…

People it is imperative that we develop a new way of thinking! There is a whole new world out there. Things are shifting faster than a comet and in order to ride it, you have to begin to think outside the box. As I watched our president talk about healthcare, I was struck by the monumental tasks that lie before him, and ultimately, us. President Obama is the leader but he is not the solution. We have to become the solutions. It is our children, grandchildren, and grandchildren, yet to be born, t…

" The first wealth is health." Ralph Waldo Emerson
" Our bodies are the greatest gift that we have ever been given." Karen Williams
Throughout this week these quotes have reminded me that although we know this body is not "us" we have been given it at the beginning of life to carry us through. It is built to last. It is constantly renewing itself. It is constantly communicating with us. It is nice to take a few moments every day to really appreciate and send loving kindness to our bodies.

As school bells ring and students return to the classroom, backpack safety should be something that parents consider as they select this years school supplies. Often the backpack becomes the portable locker for kids as they move from one class to the next, carrying weight sometimes between 20-40 lbs. For a student with a laptop...that becomes additional weight that gets lugged around. I am sure you have seen students who will sling their backpack over one shoulder or carry it with one hand.
